Hey guys. Thinking about respooling my symetre1000 on my 2-3kg rod. Has 8lb on it now which is quite old. Thinking about upping it a bit. Thoughts?

Or maybe a new setup? Lol. I have this 1000 a 4000 with 20lb line. Perhaps a 2500 for an in between? :P

get some 6 or 8lb nanofil. my 2500 symetre is spooled up with 8lb nano casted it millions of times, never had an issue.
And its pretty cheap

On my 1000 id never go more then 6lb. I only use 2-6 lb on it.
My 2500 has 10lb which is a good allrounder.

5lb braid on your 1000 Symetre is a perfect match.
A 2500 with 12 to 14lb line would fill the gap nicely.

I'm with Kingcray. Go some 6lb max nanofil.

Might go check out this nanofil tomorrow. The fire line on this reel would be a couple years old. Not trusting it anymore! What size leader for the 6 or 8lb nanofil? How do the saharas fair? Are they an alright reel?

I have 2 saharas, a 1000 and a 2500, really nice reel for the money.
Id buy another one if I end up losing one or it breaks.
