Yeh, Both my sons (12 and 17) have the marlin bug pretty bad. I went on Saturday and a couple of mates went with them Sunday, you got no idea how much they are pressing me for riggers ATM.
The new 250 is awsome as well 7 knots faster than my old 225 and economy really outstanding. I put a new 5012 Garmin in the boat as well ( Thanks wayne/John, no gauges in the boat at all) all data is run off the sreen.

Awfully noisy motor,no wonder everyone wants an Etec, lol
You got some awesome footage there Gary.
A set of Reelax Reef 450's or Gunnel Mounts with 4.5m poles would be perfect for the boys to play with :D:D:D

Gotta love those Ec's Garry. Is yours the Offshore? I'm looking for a 565 Sports ATM but they are hard to come by. The 250 looks at home and it was good to see you pass the other plodders. :D Whats your wot speed now? Worth having a look at the Cootacraft Coldfront lines. Rumored that 100 kph is possible.
You're certainly getting top value out of the boat with the boys loving it so much.

Yeh JJ it was the 3rd OFFSHORE out of the new mold (2007) I did the 20hr service today (3 trips in 8 days :) ) and found that it wasnt reaching full throttle (cable adjustment) so fixed that and now we will have BLAST working as well. Boat hit 43 knots at 6050rpm but now we have at least 5% more throttle specs have it using 86l/ at WOT we have only hit 83L/hr so be intersting we also had 4 up and full of fuel so the prop should be right for the big trips with an extra 170l of fuel and 100kg's of ice/bait etc
The Son (17 YO) has served his apprentiship and now takes the boat when I don't go. gets a few odd looks at the ramp he recons

Yep that's 100% the way to go with reelax and precision both unreal items. Go 5.5 or 6m poles tho not 4.5m. Was an unreal day on Sunday with many of laughs and it's unreal to see Matty who is only 12 have a grin from ear to ear even while I was yelling at him to WIND BLOODY WIND LOL

Unfortunately you will not get any Reelax bases until near the end of January unless you can find a set sitting in a shop somewhere.
