Coochie on Friday night

So here I was at Coochie near the Red Buoy on Friday night just at the turn of the tide.

Had a 20lb line in a 12 kg rod with a half pillie when, BANG! the reel drag is screaming! After about 10 mins of fighting what ever it was snapped off.

This happened three times in the hour. I was certain I was either going to break either the rod or the reel handle.

Any ideas?

Shark? ive caught some fair sized sharks around the Red Bouy and off the jetty over the years.

If you lip-hooked it, could well have been a bully. Maybe also a shovelly. Good fun either way, and bugger you lost it.
