I have got a Shimano Saragosa 18000F with 50lb Super PE braid. The problem I have is trying to decide on a rod. I want to troll for pelargics, mackeral etc, and bottom bounce in deep water. Fishing the reef out from Port Douglas. Would like one about 7ft.Some people have suggested T Curve, Shimano Terez, G Loomis. What are peoples thoughts please.

Garry Howard built Calstar GF700H or XH if you run 65lb or more.

I wasn't real sure about the t curve until i bought one. Brilliant , especially for the money and there is plenty of choice.
I like the recovery in the blank when under pressure. The other i have is a daiwa saltiga which i bought from ebay US. Delivered around $220 for my stella 20000

T curve deep jig 200 mate. You don't want a long rod for what you want to do.

this is good advice...you are only going to give the fish a leverage advantage with a 7ft rod if you are not doing any casting.
T Curves are great....I have my Saragosa on a PE3-8 Livefibre Venom...very happy!

Thanks guys for your thoughts, but unfortunately the Venom & the Gary Howard are out of my budget. So it looks like it might have to be a Terez or T Curve.

i have a saragosa 10000 spooled with 65lb braid that i use for popping gt's. i had it on a tcurve bluewater 762 (24kg) until on my last trip the insert around the top guide popped out and i had to use a back up rod from the charter on the day. the guide handed me a daiwa demon blood 702 - wow! this rod was half the weight with every bit of the strength. if they did a travel series i would seriously considering switching over my collection of t curve travels to these demon bloods.
