Hi all
Been wanting venture out and check out this area of the bay, anyone on here got some experience and can give any pointers of whats there, what fish to try for and general info. not chasing marks, just be keen to hear from anyone who has worked the area a bit.
Seems there might be some serious currents?
Anyway thanks heaps for any replies
Cheers

Flatzie going back 3 or 4 years i fished it almost every weekend. Mainly bottom bashing.
It was always a bit hit and miss but have had plenty of surprises out there.
have bagged out on squire several times at night, yet never caught one during the day.
Caught everything from flathead to big slateys to large mouth nannygai. Lots of grassies, maroi cod etc
Also normally a great place to find some school mackerel
I have seen pearl perch and even a coral trout caught there

As for currents, its like a freeway at the middle of the tide, near impossible to hold bottom. Depth gets to around 17mtrs from memory in its deepest.
Ive heard several reports of the reef being really sanded over so not too sure how its fishing these days

I agree with kingcray, best fished at the top or bottom of the tides.
