It was time to have a look for some more whiting off theshore in the Broadwater. I arrived at The Spit in the late afternoon and got agood whiting first cast. Perhaps the fish would be really on I thought tomyself, but no. The first fish proved to be the best for the trip. I persistedat The Spit for a few hours and got a few more fish but quite a few toads, undersizedcrabs and a horde of undersized whiting. The Bogans that are usually are commonin the area seemed absent but the empty cans of Woodstock Bourbon and cokesuggested they may have been feeding there on the previous tide.

I decided to make a move to Marine Parade. Some undersizedbogans were present with a goon bag, but they quickly moved on. A fish againfirst cast, but only the occasional whiting after that. No toads or crabs, butevery second fish seemed to be a stingray and I managed a trifecta of stingrayspecies.

About half the whiting were caught at The Spit and the otherhalf along Marine Parade.

A good but not spectacular feed.

Hi Daryl

Trust you to spot the signs of he elusive "boganus dickhedii". I think that there are enough of them around now that we can take them off the endangered list and add them back onto the excess species list and reinstate the bounty!

Just as well you have well developed observation skills honed in many scientific field trips, eh!

Nice ting mate. That will keep the boss happy!

speaking of which, any news on the rug-rat front?

cheers

Hey Moonlighter,

Yep a new fisherman has arrived but she is yet to wet a line yet - Eva Clare McPhee appeared on the 28th September but couldn't make it fishing a week later. Maybe next week. 84934

Thanks Grant. The three year old is desperate to go fishing so I will be able to get out and about - mostly during the day though but fishing is fishing!
