well what a day woke the youngbloke up at 3.50 this morning threw somethings inthe boat and headed to manly to pick up my deckie shane...was a great start shane was on time for once::)...we threw the cat in the water and cruised across a flat bay at 25knts..we hit the shingles and was the usual washing machine on the incoming tide but the cat ate it up like normal..we crossed the bar and headed out to the 33's just as the sun broke the horizon so it was time to open the big girl up to 40 knts and get there quick..when we got there i decided to give my honey hole a miss and look for a few more marks for the gps..we found a show and droped lines with only shano hooking up to a solid 60cm fish;D...well with that we set up the drift again we put 4 in the boat but nothing special all 40cm and up..on the way back i went over a cracker show so droped lines, half way to the bottom i set smoked and dusted bout 30 seconds later the youngfellas on to a freight train pulling drag at will and with a bit of coaching he pulled in his new pb of 70 cm;D...well the fish shut down soon after and we struggled on to get 11 keeper squiry snapps and a loney moses perch..with the wind howling we headed for home..pulled the pots for another 22 keeper sandies;D...was a great day out ...the little bugger has me in our friendly fish comp now on the snapps but i still got him on the whiting:D..all caught floatlining with 1 and 2 ounce sinkers on a 2 hook snell rig using pillies..
now the poofter rod got a go today for 1 sargent baker (plastics suck and dont catch keeper fish)

Mate enjoy the "father son" thing, kids now a day are often interested in some much crap.
On the plastic thing you need the correct coaching...... seriously you smell so much better when you get home and half the amount of cleaning.

I'm surprised to hear your selling the cat rosco, you have nothing but praise for it. You buying a different boat or moving on?

Nice one Rosco, what a great week of fishing and crabbing you have had.
Well done to the young fella on his PB.
Offshore plastic fishing is a bit like floatlining but more fun and usually better fish.
Cheers,
Brian
