how to remove snot weed from braid??

We had an unproductive jigging session off the sunshine coast on sunday.
Got some gooey muck ( snot weed?) in little clumps on my braid as it came up and as we were in a good depth there seems to be quite a few lumps all up.
Does anybody have any removal tips ( its probably well caked by now I guess)

Have had the same problem many times. I find that by the next fishing tip it dries off and as you are letting your line down it comes off quite easily.
