First Time Stories

I thought it would be interesting to hear peoples first time stories. I have a couple.


First Barra I ever caught was 102cm on a live bait from my Kayak (Ocean Caught) Talk about beginners luck.
First game fishing trip I caught 2 x Blue Marlin and all I had to chip in was $50 for fuel. Looking back now I should have bought them a carton (Talk about lucky to meet people nice enough to take me out on their boat which was only a 26 footer)
First time I took my wife fishing her first ever fish was a legal Barra from the bank.(She caught a Barra before my first Barra)
Apart from that, I just try to catch fish with varying degrees of success just like the next person.

First time i took my wife fishing she was 8 months pregnant with our first. I baited her up with a livie off a tweed bridge and said "back in a minute with my rod". Turned around and she pulled in a 58cm jack. She repeated the effort with a 53cm jack about 2mins later and i was yet to get my rod.
First time i fished the seaway south wall land based i got monstered on 12lb mono, 6 times by big Gt's on poppers. Went back the next day and landed one on 20lb mono. Thought it was a killer spot but have had plenty of donuts there since.
First time i paddled out on my yak i caught nothing.....
Fished a barra spot up north but forgot my lure box, searched the trees with flood debris in them and found a abu high low. Put it on and landed a 12lb barra, followed by a 10kg barra right on dark on the popper setting.Still got the lure.
