Hi guys. Caught this Guy in the maroochy River. Great fight, super rare for the area :). Taken on a Just Jiggin Lure. This is my first wild barra.

You got one, good one. Specially in winter.
I'm up at Bundaberg and am looking forward to one as the water warms...
There's one in the Kawana Lake as well as i'v seen it......

just curious, did your line snap leaving the plastic in its mouth when you caught it? or did u just hook in on again to show what u used to catch it?
nice fish by the way. seen a few in the noosa caught but first for maroochy.

not all that uncommon for Maroochy mate,,,, ChopJr has several to his name,,,,

we haven't been up there in ages,,, i think Joel (imnotoriginal) has a large number of Barra to his credentials as well

well thats pretty cool choppa. hearing more and more catches locally all the time, lets hope they can have a few successful breeding seasons and become a more regular catch / bycatch.
the most amazing one i have seen for myself was a juvenile about 30cm pulled up in a cast net off the woody point jetty early last year.

Good fish - well done.

I saw a report on another fishing site earlier this year of a barra caught in the Coomera River on the Gold Coast.

I saw on the news last year of a juvenile barra caught in port Phillip bay, long way from home I reckon

My mate has caught 30 in the maroochy approx. the line was not broken still attached to the rod.
