Heading up to rainbow this weekend and hope to dust off the beach gear from the shed. Anyone know what the fishing has been like up there recently? Any good areas to head to?
Cheers.

Mate, depending on whereabout you are going there should be tailor at Double Island point rocks or even off the beach near Inskip point. Should even be the odd jewfish about, try a nice big mullet fillet in the gutters. For smaller species there should be bream around. Stop at the bakery in town and speak to Tony if he is there, runs the local charter business.

Hey Alexl, I am doing the same thing myself, although we are heading up Saturday and coming back the Wednesday. Hopefully there will some fish keen for a pilchard or slab of mullet off the beach. Last trip up there back in March we fished staight out from the the Life Savers and grabbed a few good feeds of bream and dart on yabbies pumped from Carlo Point.
Looking at the webcams there now it seems a fantastic place to be, just hope the weather coninues to the weekend.

Cheers mate, looking forward to it, but going to have to find a spot out of that wind I reckon!
I don't go often, but usually hit the beach around the rainbow shores end and look for a few gutters there. Last trip I was at inskip trying for mackrel, threw out a small dart, got smashed and pulled up the biggest toad fish (at least i think it was) I have ever seen!
Thanks for the camera links, know where to show off my catch now...
Good luck
Al.
