I have been waiting for the right conditions to fish a spot off the Gold Coast for a while now and Saturday night was the night. There was myself and two mates Steve and Owen and we set off from the Seaway at about 3pm, we tried to get a few livies but they where hard to find, so off to spot X. I said to my two mates that we should get a few snapper here. Owen was bottom bashing Steve was on the Float line and I was on the 7' soft plastics, first drop and Owen was on the bottom fishing away and Steve and I where waiting for our lines to get to the bottom. My line hit the bottom and Steve's not long after, I went to take the slack up on my line and she loads up, thump thump thump followed by 20lbs braid peeling off, Steve put his rod in the holder and went to get the net, next thing Steve's rod buckles over and he's on big time as well. Owen took over net duties and not long after my fish hits the net 90cm snapper a new PB and then Steve's hit the net 80cm. After that she shut down so we went and got our bag of trag.

hey mate. i'd get your scales checked. 6.5kg seems very light for that length:-?. my 91 went 8kg on digital scales.

Dave,
We had a 68cm one go 2.8kg & a 70cm model go 4.2kg. Huge weight difference in just 2 cm.

Good session, regardless.
