Left clontarf at 6.30, bloody cold, forgot my jacket. Went out front woody , did lots drifts for couple whiting. Moved down closer to margate, couple more. Down out front margate, nothing.
Back up to woody, few more.
Decided to head out front nudgee, not a scale.
Then over to compass bouy area, 1 whiting.
So by this time glassed out, so flew back to woody for couple more.
Pulled pin about 12.
Ended up with 12 whiting.
Oh well , 1 night feed.
I thought the car park would have been packed but not to be.

I will find these things somewhere soon, I hope.

Cheers

In SW winds I used to head to Deception Bay about 800m out from the mouth of the Redcliffe Aerodrome drain and start long drifts from there looking for schools of whiting. Usually didn't have to drift far for some action.

I went out yesterday morning from Scarborough stopped out from the leads to get a couple of live whiting for snapper baits. The area is full of slime/weed so no livies lucky I had a couple of frozen whiting on board. No snaps plenty of pickers. cheers Pete

I caught a few pan size flounder on mullet gut, a 45 cm flatty on plastic and fat chopper tailor on mullet strip at boggy creek mouth, land based this morning.
Mixed bag, nothing huge, but ok.
High tide was a tad low but some bait activity around, maybe on the increase in the next week or so with the moon around.

Nah mate not a hair of a GT was to be found on the last run. I think they turn it on with the winds rather than dead calm like yesterday.

I just don't seem to do any good on a sw wind. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. Maybe someone else has thoughts on this

Greg im the same,, from my experience especialy fishing locally the w or sw flattens the water too much and water is always clearer during these winds, making the fish shy. the se breezes tend to stir the water up a bit more n create that bitta chop and i think it helps. for bream and flathead in particular. well i can only talk from past experiences i guess
