Glass or brass ferrals? If its brass then you gently warm t with a flame. This will swell the brass fitting and then you can remove it, dont twist the blank when doing this. If its glass then poor boiling hot water over it, again dont twist.

Thanks for the helpful info Stuart. I tried with a cigarette lighter but just not quite enough heat. So I tried my mini blowtorch on lowest setting and kept rotating the rod blank then pulled blank apart with my two hands. Im guessing the brass ferrule hadn't been apart in alot of years.

Before I forget, DONT use lanoline on your brass ferral. Just use silicon spray or a very thin wipe of marine grease and take it apart when finished..

No worries I use a bit of marine grease and take them apart for storage. Stuart may I ask why u should not use lanolin on brass ferrules?

Lanoline on brass is fine, its if it gets onto the blank or coating then your up sh!it creek. It turns the coating to snot and it can soften the resin int he blank.
