Hi guys a new member to ausfish just wondering if anyone owns a fortress or been in one thinking of buying a 5 meter any feed back would be great

mate has a 4.4 that we go out crabbing in good little boat handles pretty well. They are a fairly well built boat but fairly pricey for what you get in my opinion.

Just a quick comment on McLay boats... I love them - well-built NZ breed. Fully welded floor & stringer type plate construction. Very solid with just the right amount of hull deadrise to be both smooth riding and stable at rest. I have owned a 550 Fisherman and now own a 586 Fisherman. You won't go wrong but agree that the smaller ones don't necessarily offer value for money (you don't need offshore capable construction for estuary/creek boating).

There was an old member SJP I think it was who had similar. A tiller steer one before this current crop came out. I had a big Mclay and two other Ausfish members have had them as well and liked them. Perko and Lippa were the others.
