What is an accurate Method of Measuring and Displaying Fuel Remaining in Portable Fuel Tank?

The best way? look at the side with light on the other, or better still...... take reserve.

Unfortuantely, this tank will be inside a storage container well without light.

IS there anyway of hooking up a digital guage or something - without relying on having to look at the tank?

Splash, is this your only tank or a second reserve tank. Do you have NMEA2000 network with your engine connected? If so you should be able to manage your fuel consumption and remaining fuel. For any discrepancy just recalibrate fuel remaining when you refill the tank. That's what I do as I have no sensor in the tank. Works well enough for me. I still dip the tank occasionally just to check they are saying the same thing.

Yes, my motor is NMEA 2K compliant, but at 60HP any fuel flow rate measured is considered inaccurate if I use paddlewheel type sensors.

This tank will be my only tank (22L), but I will carry spare fuel onbaord.

What interface cables do you use in your system and how many HP do you have?

I didn't bother with this as ten litres is the most I've used in a day with a polyboat and 40 hp. The Yammy and Lowrance HDS sounder with NMEA starter kit, EP85 and command link cable should allow you to guess the fuel consumption and estimate your tank level.
