Hey all,

This is my first report and hope there will be many more to come, left Redland Bay Boat ramp at 6:15am today got to Split Beacon at approx 6:45am and there were quite a few boats out on the North west side(Peel Artificial Reef) didn't catch anything but alot of bites, must be alot of small fish around. Drifted and moved to Hanlon Light had some good strong bites but all stopped when the Dolphin turned up and played around the boat. Was abit annoyed about that.

Caught a Grinner that measured out to 53cm long, how big do they get? Thought it was a good flattie til I brought him in was so PO about it.

Moved over to the east side of Peel, nothing but alot of small bites. Gave up and moved down to Hole in the wall. Nothing there after an hour, not even a bite.

So I decided to ditch Peel and move over to southern end of Goat Island, to many small snappers from 30cm to 35cm, released them all.

I was using both Bait and Soft plastic and also a spare rod/reel with popper on it for Longtail tunas, saw some tunas chasing after bait school, went over there to cast it all went dead by the time I got there.

So I got bored and gave up and headed back to Redland Bay by 1pm.

Peel seems to be quiet at the moment.... I hope that changes soon!

Mate I just got back from a day at the Rouse and HA Reef and even though there were some good shows of bait and fish on the sounder it was very slim pickings. Cheers

Thanks for posting the report, shame it wasn't a great day of fishing! Love reading what is actually happening with the fishing none the less.

Thanks for the report, we haven't been to peel for a while now probably 2 months. It just hasn't fired up for us lately. You just gotta love those grinners.
