Hi All

With the wife heading into hospital for an Op on Wednesday, the weekend was the last chance to take our oldest out for a fish for a few weeks. Initially was hoping to chase a Snap but he said he wanted to give the Tailor a go so we left Manly at 4.30pm.

Headed to our spot and and it wasn't long before the first hit the deck. We had a ball over 2 hours and while a little lumpy from the NE'er, he handled the conditions well (demolished all the food in his lunchbox so i guess he's proven and confirmed his sea-legs!). He did struggle with the fish as they got to within a few meters of the boat and as he is only 5 and i wouldn't let him stand, had to give him a hand to get them onto the boat. He also lost a couple on the way in but that was to be expected as he's still learning the meaning of 'smooth' PML!! We wrapped up at 7.00pm and headed back in with 9 tasty suckers aboard. All bar 2 were between 38-40cm.

Nice work T, looks like the little fella had a ball out there with that grin. Thanks for the report.

Young fella did really well. Good to see he can keep his tucker down, more than I can say for a few of the blokes on Ausfish from what I have been reading lately!

Thanks gents! He has a younger brother to follow in his footsteps in due course... looking forward to the day when i can just sit back and enjoy it while they do all the work, albeit that's some years off yet, but it's nice to dream ;0)!

Thanks Uncle Lochie! Baba says that won't be too hard...

I think the smile on their faces is pure gold when you get back from a good trip (i.e. you actually catch something) and they pose for the camera proud as punch. It's just the niggling little voice in my head that says 'soon he's gonna outfish you' that keeps me on edge hahahaha Hope the missus recovers well from the op mate.
Cheers for the report.

Hey Jim, thanks for that! I'd actually be chuffed when he out fishes me - it will mean I've done my job in giving him a start... Funny thing is that he was actually quite shattered and feel asleep on the way back. Not sure how he managed such a great smile, but I'll take it!!

Wife will be good - the worst of it was the 1st Op 3 mths ago when they had to nail the infection... This is just 'maintenance' to put everything back together, so hopefully no dramas.

Take care T
