Hi,

Been looking at various tools to buy to avoid the elbow grease required to maintain a polish on a big boat. Stuff Ive seen are makita polisher, shurhold (from USA plenty on youtube).

What's everyone else use?

Just take it in baby steps, get her use to the mower first.

I have used that Hitachi for years. Paid for itself. Cheers

I used 3M rubbing compound 1st - with the 7" variable speed buffer.
then nu-finish polish over the top (by hand) buffed off with a soft cloth.
I had a professional show me how to do it - he did the hull, i did the cabin and topsides.

because I'm not a professional and i'm only using it maybe a couple of times a year i just bought a really cheap random orbit buffer from supercheap and it's awesome, hasn't missed a beat in a few years. to be honest though i reckon ya can't beat hand buffing with a cloth nappy or an old towel.

Wash regularly with Chemtec truck wash---the one with the wax in it. Just use a bucket and a broom, or a sponge on a stick. Wash off before it dries. Follow the instructions. Easy.

you can keep your truckwash with wax in it.the polish you apply to a surface is to remove slight oxidation & bring out the lusty in the paint.you must apply a coat of wax after polishing to protect it from the elements & the big yellow thing in the sky

the trick to waxing be it a boat or car is apply wax, section at a time & let dry to a haze, while you are waiting crack open a beer or 2 & enjoy your boat or car,
