Held off as long as I could but June is Bream time is South East QLD !
Hit the Pin Saturday night to fish my usual haunts.
Very wet night in an open boat !!! had the tarp set up as best as possible to keep the elements off us.
Not a hot fishing session but a few fishing coming over the side to keep our mind of our wet trousers !! Good little bite period Sunday at daybreak made our catch respectable. Best went 34cm.
Yeah met up with Te Whiti and his Bro back at the ramp after fishing beside them most of the night. Heard them cheering and hollering through the night and thought they must have pulled in a good fish...........turns out to be a monster Flathead !! The big cat they were in looked like the Taj Mahal compared to my boat.............bet they had a nice dry nights sleep ::)8-)
Awesome guys !!

Well done there Craigie and good to finally meet up. Yeah a bit of hollering went on, not sure if it was fuelled by the rumbos or the big lizard more. That's a respectable catch you got there and you're right, the fishing sesh was not real hot but a few here and then. It's a good option if offshore is blown out.
Look forward to catching up again.
Cheers Schuey

Hey Craigie
Mate good haul, on Saturday the pin was alive with Bream and the tailor were smashing up all over the place, managed a nice tailor as a by catch while chasing the bream for the comp and a nice lizard too, the bait schools filled the sounder at times. We also coped a few showers but all in all it was a good day.

Nice Going Schuey, June / July is almost a sure thing for a feed of fish from that area.
Safe anchorage, no waves and wind is rarely an issue.......
Yeah great spot for a few Rums !! we cracked open ours at 1am when the weather was starting to drown out our enthusiasm................next min the bottles empty and daybreak was upon us!! Love a few rums in winter !!
I'll be down there every second week for the next 2 months.....
Catch you guys down there again soon.
Who was the guy going for a swim Sunday morning ? thought the tide was dragging him away into some danger !

Craigie, that was the skipper (Te Whiti) going for a swim. He lost the lid to my burley bucket and after he looked at me and said "We need that today", I most certainly agreed. So off he stripped and into the brine. It's not often the skipper is sent in !
Goodoo haven

You're a bloody ironman fishing in the rain down there in winter. Looking forward to some slow moving highs this winter for some buckets and snaps at wide cal 👌👌

Nice work Craigie. The fish are pretty healthy at the moment, and there are a mix of darker and silvers.
