New reel and rod

Hey I'm looking for a spinning reel and rod for fishing in dams and estuaries want something decent and not sure exactly what size and types will suit. Got about $500 to $600 to spend prob looking for either shimano or daiwa cheers

I would to look to split the budget in two, so that would $250-$300.

I would go a Daiwa Caldia 11' in the 2000 size..

Rod wise I think something in 2-5kg range maybe daiwa Black Label??
