Hey guys I am looking at getting a set of trim tabs fitted to my boat. Just wondering on what brands to look at and what works and what doesn't. I have heard of the Bennett and the Lenco trim tabs being the go. I want to get good quality ones so would either of these brads be able to do the job and /or is there any other brands out there I can have a look into to.

I have literally just finished installing (Sunday) a set of Lencos (9x9) to my Vagabond, the install was very simple and all components are of very good quality, plan to water test on the weekend.
Was going to buy Minn Kota but they are no longer going to be made and the bennets need to install the container for the oil and the QL are difficult to fit on a Vagabond as l would need to cut hole in the floor to pass the wire harness hence why l went for the lencos.
Also there are plenty of place to buy from off ebay and great prices and spares are easily to get, so l thought l would get the lencos.
Good luck with your choice.

Do some searches on the major boating sites in the States and Uk.......I think you'll find Bennett comes up as the best all rounder.

Mate - I think on this site there have been many Bennett v Lenco's v Lectrotab etc threads - just have a search and you will find heaps of info. For me I fitted Bennett's myself about 7-8 years ago and they have been the bees knees. Not lost a drop of oil and very easy to use. Right price too. Backup is excellent even out of warranty - as I have posted up on other threads before just checkout Tabman's Forum at thehulltruth.com

Hi. You didn't say what your boat is made of. If it's Al plate don't use stainless trim tabs. Lectrotabs make alloy ones for plate boats. This company was formed by a lencotab engineer. Have used 2 sets....not a problem. cheers john

Sorry mate it is a glass boat so I would say I would go with the stainless ones.
