Hi guys
going to give Peel Island a try this weekend. Never fished here before. Any suggestions on where to try (don't want your secret spots) but what sideof the island what depth etc would be appreciated.

Hey mate,
When fishing Peel try the following:
The area called south west rocks (south west obvioulsy)
The artificial reefs on the western side (marks are on google)
The hanlon (spelling) light beacon on the northern side
Most of peel is protected by a green zone, anywhere that is 2 metres or shallower on the lowest of low tides.
If you motor up to the island, you will see a reef ledge rise from approx 9 metres of water to 2 metres of water in a very short space. Fish this ledge and you should do ok.
Also, as it is really shallow water, looking for other boats is a NO NO. just cause there is another boat doesnt mean there is fish. All you will do is shut down fishing for you and the other person.
You are much, much better off finding an isolated patch and fishing the ledge. The fish swim the ledge so you will always find fish. On the outgoing tide, fish slightly deeper, the big fish are waiting for the bait fish coming off the reef. On the incoming tide, fish slightly shallower, the big fish are looking to move up the reef to feed.
Hope that helps!
Cheers Adam
