So the young bloke and I left home at 3am to meet Tunaticer at Scarby boat ramp and be on the water by about at 4am. Loaded up headed out on a glassy sea. Very beautiful morning, sensational sunrise but not a lot of action. Drifted over some structure when a heap of bait started going balastic as the sun was rising. Tailor were chopping them up. Tunaticer cast a SP out into the bait and immediately hooked up. Pulled in a solid 40 - 45cm Tailor. Bait continued to bust up for another 10 mins or so but couldnt get one to take another offering from us. Went back to bottom bouncing. I hooked up to something quite solid, line was peeling off then nothing:-?. After a couple of hour we decided to change over to blades and thready busters and things picked up a bit. I caught a flathead! Seems you can take the boy out of the estuary but you cant....... Then Tunaticer hooks up a baby snap about 15cms. Max scored his 1st estuary cod, Tunaticer then onto a nice flatty, I get a Faaaaaaaaaaatttt toady looking thing, Max scores his 1st ever tailor then he gets wacked on his blade and he is on again!!!. Grin from ear to ear he pulls up a 33cm Snapper. Happy as he was and I was very happy for him until he spent the next 4 hrs reminding me he had a snapper at his 1st attempt and I had been trying for months and still didnt have one!! (He even rang Mum for mums day on the way home to say happy mothers day gave her a blow by blow account of events then says "So, to recap, I rang to say Happy Mothers day, I love you and I have a snapper and Dad doesnt!!")

Anyway, I finished the day off by catching a freaking 15cm WHITING on a threadybuster on a reef!!!! Like I said.......:P:-?

Will try again another day but may have tpo leave the young fella home. I couldnt stand another day of humiliation:-[:-?:D;D;)

It seems like a beute day with the kids. I have heard of a lot of trips of late when the decky or tag alongs flog the captain and it has been like that for me all year and funny to hear from others as we do spend time getting the moon, tide, time and sounding around to make it good for us but the deckies pounce and run with it. Well done fun day out. Cheers DD.....

Looks like another beautiful day on the water Funchy. Those big toads can really make a mess of your plastics.

Enjoyed your report as always. Hope to see you in June.
