Up at 2:45 and on the beacon by 3:15. Wanted to try off Dickie Beach for a snapper as I heard they are coming in closer but was a bit windy for my little 9ft yak:(

Anyway, apparently we are travelling through the remnants of Halleys Comet!! So I was out there fishing with a huge beautiful moon and a meteor shower. Shooting star every 1 to 2 minutes!! (If you out there in the next day or two you can see them in the east)

So, 3am at the beacon till 6am. Not a touch. Decided to drift over the weed beds fishing with a Zman wriggler thingo and a touch of S factor. Also had a sleep rig out with a squidgy wriggler and S factor. Both got me a fish. One 50cm the other 54cm

Will take my brother over the weed beds in the morning and see if we can get some more.

Oh, didn't get to fish my usual spot after 6am cos it was too crowded Hahhahaha.... Didnt see anyone get a fish though. Maybe I should shut up :o;D

I wouldnt stop posting your trip reports, but If you want to keep your spots full of fish I would stop posting so often lol!
I told my next door neighbor about my snapper spot close really close to shore at Manly, a week later, 4 tinnies in that spot....him and his mates fishing it out :(

That is great Funchy, 2 very nice flatties.

Thanks for the info about the meteors, we will be out before sunrise tomorrow morning on the Pine so hope to see some, might even go a bit earlier than we originally intended given that possibility.

Good luck tomorrow!

Yeah, there has been more activity in a spot I fish of late. Spent three hours there for nothing this morning but the bait boys nearby caught a few bream.

I was using 4lb leader and a 1/16th TT and was amazed how far it would cast before the wind picked up and I changed to an 1/8th.

Cheers for the heads up on the meteor shower Funchy.

Hi Toddo
I know that feeling mate, happened to me a few times. It really does take some of the fun out of helping others catch a fish.
Cheers,Gav.

mate your the only person i know that would be up at that time of the morning out on the water anyway...If i can get a leave pass ill be out till sun up tomorrow, ill keep an eye out for the shooting stars.
also if they bring in a ban on catching flatties for 6 weeks a year we'll know who to blame...

yeah you always have to be very carefull on giving out spots...... Make sure the peoples are very close friends and i normally find that the general population has no ideas how to fish anyways and 90% of time evan if they find the spot... they cant evan catch grinners... oh yeah and by the way... how far from manly in km's is this spot???? :) :) :) :) :) :) :P:P:P:P:P:P:P
