Hi everyone,
Last night I read the weather report and expected the worst. They forecasted 25-30 knot winds for the 3rd day in a row. I wake up this morning to no wind and an updated forecast of 10-15 knots!

I pack up my kayak at around 12.30pm and off I go for a short 1km walk to the Manly foreshore. I drop the yak in at Wynnum creek and off I go. I throw out a 3 inch gulp minnow in pearl watermelon on a Berkley 2kg dropshop and a halco shallow diver on a shimano snapper rod.
I start to paddle towards to Manly rock walks on a nice flat bay, after about 5 minutes ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ my little Berkley dropshot starts spooling line. After a short fight it was a nice little flathead measuring 32cm. After getting spiked in the leg I throw it back (they hurt!).

I throw back out and keep paddling, I go just near the Darling Point school and my shoulder decides to give out (currently is fractured!), so I paddle back towards the jetty near the wading pool. I fish in about 40cm of water around the jetty throwing a small 2 inch gulp shrimp in peppered prawn on a worm hook but still kept getting caught up in weed. I switch over to a Bubble pop 35 and on the 4th cast get a 29cm bream in about 20cm of water. My first ever fish on a popper! I throw it back to live another day.

There were plenty of mullet jumping which is amazing to watch in a kayak being so low in the water. Heaps of bait fish too so its good to see there is life at Manly!

I then started to hear thunder and didn't feel like walking in the rain pulling a massive kayak up the hills of manly so I head home and take a pain killer for my sore arm in the way of a Heineken!

Edit: If anyone is keen on going for a fish in kayaks around Manly/Tingalpa let me know and we can sort something out!

Hi everyone,
my shoulder decides to give out (currently is fractured!), so I paddle back towards the jetty near the wading pool. !

:D Had visions of you paddling in circles with one dodgy wing Toddo.

Actually sorry to hear about your shoulder, hope it fixes fast. SOunds like a good day out, and encouraging that inspite of the fresh there are some fish around. The bream on the popper would have been fun.

Nice work making good on unpredictable weather. I've only just bought myself some little poppers, and I've yet to pop that cherry.

I was certain the weather was going to be a pig all day today. Left home around 6:30am to head to Brissy for the TnT show, and it rained on and off all the way. Got there early so we got rained on waiting to get in the door. Felt like it was going to be awful all day. Step outside after lunch, blue skies, almost not a breath of wind. Get back to Bribie, it was like glass. Pity the canals and passage are so fresh again, but yeah the forecast wasn't even close ><

Haha I had to keep correcting my stroke. I was put onto this great gel called "Rapi Gel" you buy it from a horse produce store. Same contents as a standard gel like voltaren but about 10x stronger intended for horses before and after their races lol! I was put onto it from a ER nurse at the PA hospital.

On another note water clarity was quite good, I was really suprised. Was easily able to see the small sand patches around Manly which is normally quite hard even at low tide.

I normally would go to the TNT show but I always spend too much money!
