Just a quick thank you to the boys at the tackle shop castle dine.
Bought 2 new reels and rods there in last week. It was so good to get some good old fashion service.

I felt good after the purchase that the bloke shook your hand and said thanks for the business.

His name was Steve, and I will be going back. Prices were good as well.

I called into the one at cooparoo last week when I was in the area. They have a big wall of reels , the most I have ever seen in a tackle shop. They were behind a long counter, so I just started to have a look. I took one of the shelf to have a look. A bloke quickly came over and said, u right?. I said yes, just having a look.
He told me that if I wanted to have a look at any reel, then I had to tell him and he would put them on the counter, because he didn't want them to fall of the shelf after I had a look.
I told him at that rate I would be there for hours.
I am not just talking the real good ones, it was all of them.
Did nothing for me, so I left

excellent shop..i am obsessed with tackle and go to all the big brisbane stores when i am near them and this is by far the best store in brissy as far as customer service goes...excellent range, bait and opening hours..even got an awesome tip for soft plastics baiting when i went to buy the usual ridiculously expensive jig heads that would have been more money for the shop the store man (sorry not good with names) gives me a tip that will save me money and gives me better flexibility..talked about it for a good 20/30 mins...now that is customer service...great shop..with a good bakery and bottle shop next door AS well as the fuel stop it makes things so easy..good on ya boys will be spending some hard earned before moving north thats for sure..
cheers,

I have dealt with the Cooparoo store for about 25 years.
Probably not enough to call myself a regular, I don't know the fellas by their names, but I have always found all of them to be very helpfull with any questions i've had.

The counter you discribed has been there for years, I have never thought about helping myself to the reels because of the counter. I imagine they are trying to cut down on the theft of reels & spools, as you said they have some very expensive items on display.

I will be going back, I would not hesitate to recommend this shop as it is one of the best stocked tackle shops i've been in.

Jerson - I agree - to my knowledge I never seen a jeweller (and I 've been to a few - thanks wife) let anyone have free reign behind their counters!!!!

U can go into any tackle shop and look at the majority of reels. The expensive ones are always locked up. Never have that prob at the tackle shop or tackle world sand gate.

It's sad to see but I think the tackle shop at Carseldine is not what it used to be due to a number of reasons. It's only a matter of time I think for this store. Real shame for the staff as they are a great bunch of people

I must say I have grave concerns over the tackle shop, it used to be well stocked with good bait variety both frozen and fresh, always plenty of rods, reels and tackle to look at, but now I poped in there a few weeks ago to look at a reel and there was absolutely no reels to look at, no fresh bait and not much in the freezer. I really hope they can bring the store back to what it was like with the previous owner.
