Was out brighton on sun up flicking a zman shrimp about for an hour and for nothing again.
There was surface action so tried a popper for the first time which was fun but with nothing interested in it. 77809
I caved in and went and got a pack of smokes after smoking only 3 in 48 hrs as I want to stop and went home for breakfast.
Figured I would go to my favorite river spot to fish either side of the high and take some photos. Last hour of the run in had a few small bream chasing the zman to the bank with no bites.

first half hour of the run out and I got smashed. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ and I start shaking with adrenalin as this things speeds up going one way and I am pulling and reeling and tightening the drag as it goes ZZZZZZZZZZZ and changes direction and I know this isn't a flathead.
I also know I really don't know how to fish with a light rig for this sort of fish yet. I knew my knots were good and it was well hooked so I tightened the drag some more and after some more runs I got it close to the rocks but it kept pulling so I kept it under control until It tired some more and I grabbed the leader and Taa Daa...77808
My first trevally on a plastic and it was so much fun. I decided it was too big for my little soft esky bag so I swam it for a bit and off it went. No fish for dinner but so much fun. I know where I am going in the morning ;D
Damn cheese on toast for dinner again :(
