Dave, I'm sure I can sort some lead for you. I have a couple of molds for Snapper sinkers and a few balls so its not hard to knock up a few. What are you after?

I have a few boxes of 8,10,12 and 12 1/2 OZ snapper leads,I thought these might sell, but not many did,so about to melt the whole lot down to '0' and '1' balls for the bream fisherman.

Send an email,or text me on 0408 630 431,I think there is about twenty five kilos left.

Dave ( Radio Man ) if you decide to do them yourself I think I get my lead for $1 per kg and you can use my moulds.

If you use a few sinkers, then I would stay away from BCF, they must be the most expensive place on the planet to buy sinkers.

Ive been told to hit up your local dentist!!!!
when they take xrays of peoples mouths theres lead in the process somewhere and it pure lead. They just get rid of it when finished.

that is true, they do use lead as a "block" to prevent the xray going further, BUT they use an itsy bitsy bit at a time, a thin piece about 1cm square, you would need to be a busy dentist to get enough lead to make some Snapper leads.

My dentists gives me about 2kg of this thin film lead about every 6 months. Some just keep it in jars as they can't dump it. A few calls to about 6 dentists in my surrounding suburbs yielded 30kg of this pure thin lead. Digital images are quickly replacing the old xrays so this source of free lead will soon dry up.

I can see you are OK with a heap of dentist 'mates" to give you their waste, but at 2KG evey 6 months, that equates to a couple of snapper every 6 months, not a really viable option unless you can do the rounds like you do, and indeed, digital imaging is going to put n end to a lot of 'stuff" in the near future.
