Just upgraded my TLD25s for tyrnos 12s. Intend to use it for float baiting snapper, live baiting and the occasional jigging. Just after some feedback on this reel. Cheers ;D
I have a Tyrnos 20 Josh for trolling, love it to bits
I would never go back to a Tld now ;)
cheers tim :)

Too late for feedback Josh.....you've already bought it.;D
Anyway I use Tyrnos 16's for floatlining, live baiting and bottom bashing and love em.
There heaps shinier than the TLD too making them a far superior reel.

Tim - thanks mate. Dont do a lot of trolling myself but if i do, hopefully the 300m of line i have spooled up will be enough.
Anthony - the tyrnos are definately way better looking than the tlds. Thanks for the input...its exactly what i was hoping to hear
I bought the 10 a few months ago.........unfortunatly only had the chance to use it once........It was very smooth and balanced i like it.........one thing with it though if its anything like the Torium keep up the CRC or similar as it will more than likely corrode and blister quickly......unfortunatly the Malasian shimanos seem to do this.

If I get the corrosion issue, I will contact shimano and get a replacement under warranty. Didn't get it from Malaysia so hopefully will have no issues. I always inox and oil my reels so hope that helps. Thankyou
The reel is made in Malaysia...........I bought mine in Australia from my local tackleshop............it won't save it from corrosion where you get them from.
As stated the Malaysian made shimano corrosion issues are well known..........I also inox my reels and look after them and put covers on them......it didn't save my Torium
Shimanos warranty will not cover the corrosion,,,,,,,dig up some old threads on here about it.......cosmetic and functioning........not covered,,,,,,,very dissapointing.
Anyway good reel but suseptable to corrosion.

Josh ive only got 300m of braid on my tyrnos 20 and i landed a 18.5kg wahoo, never thought i was going to run out of line even after its huge runs.
I take a little spray bottle with water and spray the reel during the day to keep the salt away as much as i can. Then at home give it a wash with water, cover the line with a rag and give it a good coat of crc tackle guard. My reel is a couple of years old now and no corrosion blisters yet, no scratches either (maybe thats what promotes the corrosion)
The way i see it is, if it lasts 5 years for the $$$ they cost who cares
cheers tim :)

77773Big thanks Dan and Tim. Some good info there.
Anyway, got my two tyrnos 12 today. One from BCF, the other MO tackle. The one from BCF was perfect. The other one from MO has some corrosion. Photo attached. Im not sure if i should return it or keep it.
Hopefully it doesnt get worse. I always wash, dry and lub my reels.
Cheers
Out of the box brand new with corrosion...........send it back dude.........thats shocking.
Shimano quality has dropped badly.........unless buying top shelf.Even then look at Naggs Stella spool.......not good enough.
