My old man came over and apparently couldn't shut the door into the garage...no wonder, he'd been trying to jam it shut repeatedly with my favorite stick in the door jam/hinges. Sweet...a Nitro Godzilla with 4 guides crushed beyond recognition, damage to the blank, no need to explain more. Whilst i assured him it was "nothing" i was thinking there goes >$300 and some fond memories, i've buggered some good rods in pretty stupid ways but still dont know why they're always the good ones you like. YEs YES i know..silly place to have it in the first place but was with 4 others behind the door.
Took it down to the local and they said that brand have a no questions asked replacement for $60...handed it in, 4 weeks later i got a call its back..brand new.
Is this policy fairly standard now with the better gear ? I was impressed.

$60 is a great price. What's the replacement price on a G. Loomis now anybody know?

Loomis is half the price on the tag when you purchased it.
I believe with Egrell you pay for materials and the make up is complimentary.
Nitro have the best replacement policy IMO.

Not much of a deal from Loomis given they are so over priced to start with. Egrell's sounds more than fair, but Nitro's is very impressive. Must have a closer look at their range.

tx guys..seemed pretty damn good to me.
The same dad also broke 6 inches off the tip of a newish loomis up at cape don about 5 yrs ago and i just gave it to the guide we had...no wonder he was happy to get rid of it for me. Probably should have kept that one in hindsight, but even half price on those would still take the gloss off.
Thought it might be more the norm these days...will look at this brand again.
