Anyone got the lowdown on the prawns in the Pine.I see that Youngs Crossing is under again.I would suggest they will all go to sea for a while .What are your thoughts ?

I heard a couple of guys did OK in the mouth of the pine. Out front of Brighton Park... Can't verify if true though.

I have a try in all my usual places every time I go out , but the best result in the last couple of weeks has been two prawns for about an hours work. The recent rain isn't going to improve things either!

Was flicking some SP's around the mouth near the highway bridge and noticed a few small schools of smaller prawns getting around on the flats, but that was on Friday afternoon when it was pissing down.

I suppose with all the fresh it would be worth trying around high tide in the lower reaches. Dont underestimate the deep water in front of redcliffe for prawns. I cleaned up out there a couple years ago. Watch out for bommies tho. I have 12m off 5mm good quality rope and a buttload of lead on my net. Dont know if it would be worth throwing one of those dodgy kmart or bcf nets out there. When I caught them there they were in about 7-8 meters. Good luck. I reckon when the mornings start getting a wee bit chilly I will give it a go in ernest. Good luck, but i reckon hold off a while if your after some quality prawns.
With the Pine river being fresh, the prawns would have to be around Bramble bay.If your chasing prawns thats the best spot to look Northside.
