Anyway we're moving to Bundaberg..................
Had a look at this drain 100 mtrs from new home. Water quality looks soooooooooo good.
There's gotta be some fish in there....
Anyone fish these drains, around Thabeban..
It all flows to a big lake next to the Burnett Rv.

hi Giffo65,
Are these canals connected to Sunwater and I was wondering if they water from sewage works? I guess they irrigate the canefields.
How did you go on the freshwater fishing? and estuary.......
I have a 12 ft canoe with 3.3 hp Merc....... Guess I have a bit of exploring to do. Maybe above the weir....

randell,
yep irrigation channels. I think that one comes from isis balancing storage (Lake gregory)... Lake Gregory would be an awesome place to start with your yak..lots of bass in there, and its a good size to paddle. There is a multitude of places around the burnett are from burrum river up to baffle creek to explore with your yak mate!
Go and see the lads at tackleword in Bundy, they will put in the right direction.
As for the channels, Not sure about fish in them. They poison the weeds a couple of times a year in the channels..they run dry regularly also. So I doubt there would be fish...but never know if you never have a go.!!
Cheers Steve

Randell,go to Voss road off Childers road and go to Lake Gregory. The Bundy Sportfish club has released a heap of Bass fingerlings in there, should be good in a canoe.Alternativelly you can go aross the Burnett river to Skyringville through the hole in the North wall at high tide, very shallow, would suit a canoe.I will pm you my number for better directions.
