A while back I bought some lures to give them a try..never caught a fish on them.
The trebles have rusted so I bought some new ones and supposed split ring pliers as recommended by the bloke at a tackle shop. Yeah right..Ya need fingers the size of toothpicks and a microscope. I have been conned again on spending money on junk. Lures, trebles and pliers are now in the bin..never to try that crap again. I do not have the patience for this BS.

Mate a good trick to reduce your trebs rusting (and hooks and swivels too), is drop some rice into the tackle box compartments.
Very effective, draws up moisture constantly.
I don't bother with pliers, I just make the gap with a small knife then run the treble around till its within the ring, very fiddly job indeed.
I recently re done all my lures and it turned out to be very costly!
My lure collection no longer expands, I just have a base set for all types of fishing, (lose one replace one)
I figure more lures will just mean more upkeep.

Can I have your bin Greg? My pliers are looking prett ordinary at the moment. Trebles need to be replaced at timees. Mostly I use a large hook to split them

Never heard a good tradesman complain about his tools yet... Make do with what you have and get the job done with out complaint.
If not... stay with your meat and two veg...

No doubt there is plenty of crap being sold as quality. Best hooks are VMC IMO and pliers I couldnt tell you.
