Hey everyone :)

Just wondering if anyone has been onto any prawns of late? With all this rain around I figure there must be some moving around. I have tried for them in the passage (Caloundra) inthe past but have only got onto average at best prawns. Was wondering if thereare any other spots i could try. I知 not after your secret spots but if youcould steer me in the rightish direction would be great ;)

P.S.I知 new to this site so if I have posted in the wrong area I知 sorry.

bigmac its the obvious answer but its true - the prawns should come on thicker within a few days to a week after the rain. I have found them thick in the pine once the trees have finished drying off after rain. So give it a few days and they should be just about everywhere in the rivers and creeks north of Brissie.

I can't help with local knowledge around Caloundra.
King cray is on the money. They should come on very thick very soon.
Try typing in Sunshine coast prawning, Caloundra prawning etc... in Google. You might dredge up info from years gone past. That should help with prawning locations up your way. Maybe even contact the local Fishing guru there. And pick his brain . Cheers.

hey bigmac
I was going to ask the same question....
I read something during a search a while back, that they got them somewhere around the mouth to Bells Creek..... was going to go for a throw this week sometime.

Boys the trawlers have doing hot laps out the front of Margate (redcliffe) for the past 3 days.
Id say at least 8 trawlers of all sizes going up & down.

Has anyone been on the water in the Redland Bay/ Logan river area in the last day or two, just wondering how much crap is floating around in the water and if its worth going for a look yet?
