I have developed a great loop knot especially for light leaders.
It is a compact knot with the tag facing backwards as to not catch weed.
It is reasonably easy to tie and gives great knot strength.
It also gives you a nice straight even loop.
Start with a double overhand knot and pull it down until it just turns over to two loops.
Feed the tail end through your jighead or lure and then back through the figure eight formed by the two loops following the exact path as the line coming out. (like a slim beauty)
Pinch the line and perform two wraps around the main line and then pass back through the gap where you pinched it (like a blood knot)
Lubricate and pull down the knot from all three directions (lure, mainline, tail)
Trim and test.
