Hey guys just bought some size 3/0 1/8 TT jigheads to match my 5 inch berkley jerk shads to target some flatties and noticed that they are not much bigger than my size 1 berkley jig heads. Will the TT one's be big enough or should I grab some bigger Berkley jig heads? Why would they have such a big size difference? Sorry if this is a really stupid question I am new to soft plastics.

Hook sizes that don't have the 'o' are smaller than those that do.
For example here are some hooks from smallest to biggest #12,#8,#4,#2,#1,#1/0,#2/0,#3/0,#4/0 etc... etc.....
so a #16 would be a trout fly hook and a #16/0 would be a shark hook.

Yeah, I found though that the TT #3/0 is pretty much the same as the #1 from berkley

You would think that all these centuries of making hooks a concensus on size would be developed, but no. Different brands have different gape sizes for a nominated size. They all adopted the same size grading but forgot to nominate the mm size for the grading. Must be Irish hook makers in the grand design of things i think.

From memory TT uses Gamakatsu jig hooks and Berkley uses Owner hooks. I wish Daiichi would delve deeper into the jig hook market, thier hooks are well superior.
