At the moment ######## has the xts on sale for about $199 . I am in the market for a new reel in the 2000 size and was wondering how they perform and will they go the distance?

The Pflueger Supreme XTS is a beautifull reel to use.
I have been using the 2000 model for the last six months and it is silky smooth and up there with the best in quality.
The thing I really like about it,is it has a nice noisy drag which is the sound we all love to hear.
Load up your reel with 4lb Stren Microfuse braid....It is also superb and I havent had one single wind knot.

Pflueger seem to be very good for both rods and reels when it comes to value. Maybe more is spent on components than markeing ????. I cant remember what model reel i bought my nephew but it was very nice for the dollar and i have a couple of lower cost Pflueger rods that are well up there for quality when compared to the other bigger brands. I will replace a couple of my reels soon with Pfluegers just to have a look see at them esp those xts's.

I have a pflueger supreme xt, very happy with it, spooled with 7kg line and use for inshore plastics, handled a very solid mac tuna very nicely. Bought mine from the states as a bit cheaper there. Also use the Pflueger president series which arent as high spec but nice value for money.

Pistol P I was wondering about the sizes of the xts , are they similar to Daiwa reel sizes , for eg. a 2000 Pflueger the same size as a 2000 Sol . They certainly are a nice looking reel, Is the reel pictured an Aus version?

Sorry Pistol P but I forgot to ask, do you find the ratio to high for hard bodies and plastics fishing. This is what I intend to use it on and it will be matched to a 7 ft Nitro Vapor.
