There is some conflicting info re the Stradic 5000 FJ gear Ratio. On Shimano Aus website it is 5.8:1 and 104cm per rot. On the US site it is 6.2:1 and 41 inches per rot. One of these has to be wrong.(or they have a different version ??) Does anyone know if the ratio for Aus bought reels is 5.8 or 6.2 ?

A few of the well known US sites seem to be saying 41" (104cm) and 4.8 ratio for the 5000FJ

Yeah I saw some sites had that..confuses the matter even more. For a reel this size it has to be 6.2:1 to get 41 inches or 104cm rpr . Trouble is which is the typo, the retrieve rate or the ratio??
I think I will try to email Shimano Aus and see if I get a reply.

Well ring your local tackle shop and ask them whats on the box simple,if your after the line retrived in a rotation for spinning tuna and macs the gear ratio is irrelevent i think.

Well ring your local tackle shop and ask them whats on the box simple, . Tried that already they looked at the brochure, which is basically the same as the website... also called Shimano Aus. , they didn't know either and were going to call me back when they found out.
if your after the line retrived in a rotation for spinning tuna and macs the gear ratio is irrelevent i think. Actually my use is exactly that, spinning for bonito and Tuna/Macks etc and that is why I want the highest retrieve I can get in that size range. The new Sustain 5000 is listed at 6.2:1 and 104cm as well. If the Stradic is truly the same retrieve I will just buy one, otherwise I will wait for the Sustain to be available.
