Hi All,

Just got back from 1770 from a weeks worth of fishing and crabbing round hill creek. All i can really say is i was very disappointed with the crabs :-? had 8 pots out all week pretty much rebaiting them every tide for probably 10 muddies in 7 days. Id say it was because they would have got smashed by the amount of people which have been there since school holidays. on the other we did manage some nice cod, mangrove jacks and queenfish on livies up the creek. all in all though a good trip and cant wait for easter !;D

Typical with 1770 mate, my son-in-law was there last week of Nov and the guys in the caravan park were nailing well in excess of the bag limit of crabs and cooking them up each night for feasts amongst themselves and the odd friend. He counted 23 muddies cooked in one session by one fellow alone then when he finished the next guy cooked his 19 crabs and so on. He tells me there were about 6 boats all using the same cooker each night keeping the water hot for fast cooking. Usually two or 3 ppl per boat. He did not know how many pots these guys were running each. With nobody there to check the bag limits it is open to slaughter.

I generally avoid 1770 itself because of the holiday feast attitude and fish other places in the area for much better results.
