Can anyone tell me how much paint is needed per coat for a tandem axel trailer (19 foot boat)?
After removing the rust I want to do a coat of Galmet cold gal and then a coat or two of Galmet DuraGal. This stuff is expensive and I dont want to buy more than I need.
Thanks
Dave

DULUX FerrekoŽ No 3 - PC560 (http://www.dulux.com.au/specifier/product/protective-coatings/topcoatsfinishes/micaceous-iron-oxides/product-detail?product=2326) is th ebest money can buy. Dont stuff around with other brands or snake oils, this stuff is by far the best mate. It coasts around $160 for 4ltrs and will last years.

Stuart - I just read the product sheet for Ferreko and it looks like top stuff. I think I am now sold on the Dullux, thank for the tip.
Do you think 4ltrs will do two coats?

I think 4ltrs would be fine mate. As long as you get one coat on then allow to dry then do a second coat starting from the rear of the trailer working your way foward. That way if you do run out on the second coat at least the back end that sees most of the saltwater gets 2 coast. Im about to do my trailer with the same product. In fact this is the exact same paint used on the Harbor bridge and is considered the best protective coating in the world.
