Horse whiting on the goldy

Spent new years morning pumping some yabbies in a creek on the goldy. Motored to a spot only a couple of hundred meters away and these suckers started hooking themselves. Never caught so many monsters in one session. A few over 40 and the biggest 45cm equalling my previous biggest. Happy new year. Ben

Good going Ben....while my boat is waiting for it's heart transplant i've been pulling worms at the spit and fishing the run in tide in the seaway off the rocks for a dozen or so whiting in an hour or so during the first hour of the run in.A lot of 40+'s in there as well.Been doing this for the last week or so and it seems to be pretty consistent.Must be a few around i'm guessing.

It certainly seems to be a good year for the big ones muddy tows. Would like to beat the 45 this year.
nigler, i must also be a simple minded fool. I'm just as happy catching whiting on yabbies as i am spaniards on a live tuna or jewies on lures. As long as theres a bend in my rod, life is good. Ben

Ta guys, took a mate out this morning and of course they weren't on fire like they were yesterday,but he did get one flatty and we both got a 40+ ting each so he's got a decent feed. Ben

Cracker whiting Ben, my daughters friend dropped around a few from a Nth Goldie river and they were horses as well. Gee they were a treat to eat. Great work mate
