Me and a mate went out at 4am this morning,launched at bribie marina,headed straight to ningi creek,fished plastics for 5 hours for 3 school flatty,threw them all back,Was still very much hit and miss,found a mud bank that had 14 fresh flatty lays in it up to 60cms ,all within a 10 metre area,but couldnt find the school.Still good to start the year with a few flatty.

they are definately up there,just a matter of finding where there laying,I have never seen so many fresh lays on 1 bank before,they were all facing the bank and watching as it drained,2 or 3 of them were solid 60cm+ fish.i will head back next weekend and hunt again.

All of those lays could have been made by very few fish, flathead create a new lay every time they move, usually when they emerge to swallow something down.
