the pots i have been using i got of an x pro crabber i grew up behind...they have 2 funnels not like most of the new pots u get with 4 entries..i have found these outcrab the 4 entry ones easy, will be gettin a few more made next week.
jimbosplumbing,
not sure what u mean by your post.but if u must know i have a cooker that cooks 25 sandies at a time so 10 minutes and i am done, guess u need a good cooker when u catch the amount of crabs i normally do

Just having a bit of a laugh about the cooked cabs in the photo rather than fresh. Yeah you sure do, so consistently as well. I've seen great posts of crabs from you for the last few years, you make it look easy.

Well done Rosco, seven in one pot is a big haul! you haven't got any pics of those pots have you.
Its hard to go past the BCF ones at 4 for $55 especially when one goes missing every few trips.
The river is a pretty good option with these winds at the moment.
Cheers,
Matt

I had one of my pots slashed over the last couple days in the central bay. some twat pulled my pot and broke half the name tag off, andslashed a hole in the side of the pot. luckily it was an old pot that was ready to be replaced, but still a stupid act by a right twat.
about the 4 entrance vs 2 entrance, I think I'll tie up 2 entrances on some of my old pots and see how that goes, I've heard the same thing over the years that 2 entrances are better, but haven't tried it yet.

2 funnels seems to be working for me trublue,i think they hold more crab in the pots

yeah mate it gets out of control,u buy the cheap bcf pots and the leave them but after a few trips with them they are buggered anyway,u spend abit more on better pots and the take them.in the end u loose anway
cheers rosco
It must be that hunter gather instinct in the people that steal pots. I don't go out on the water much but have come across pots and also from land and they belong to someone so I never think about touching them. It really just surprises me to hear on here about all the people that pinch the crabs and/or pots. I was fishing a jetty recently and this bloke caught a fish and couldn't get the hook out. He asked me if I had pliers and I did. He removed the hook and then walked back to where he was fishing (a few meters away ) and put my pliers on his tackle box. He just went back to fishing and I was just dumbfounded. I tried to reason that he was excited because he caught a fish?! and just forgot. But that was just giving him an excuse for trying to steal my pliers.
