Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Strudwick reels.
I did a forum search and there's a fair bit of info about Strudwick rods, but not much about the reels.

I need to stock up on a few smallish spinning reels in preparation for loosen'n up a few yellas out Roma way.

Don't want to spend a fortune on tackle as I did that already in PNG on Black Bass gear.

I recently saw a Strudwick reel advertised, of about the 2500 size for $69.00 (plus $10 postage).
The 10BB system sparked my interest as that many bbs are usually in the more exccy reels.
By the specs it seees to be a pretty good quality reel for the price.

Any comments?

Yep, I s'pose a reel with 10bb's for $69.00 brand new might sound a bit suss.

That's why I'm seeing if anyone out there has had any experience with them.
Anyway, at the end of the day its just for chasing a few yellas & mostly likely hauling in a shite-load of carp.

I just bought a 5bb Daiwa 2500X Crossfire for $51.00 delivered - so that's added a tad to the arsenal.
But I reckon I need probably two more spinning reels to complete the yella kit (wife n kids to sort out too...)

My main freshwater reel so far (haven't used it yet) is a Shimano Ultegra 2500. I have the Crossfire as well so yep, two more to go.
I'm tempted to go the Strudwick just out of curiosity - but it'd be good to get some feedback from someone who's used one.

I've got a strudwick rod, had it for 3 years and love it ! It has caught some decent fish for its weight class. But sorry, I can't comment on the reels.

Its a bit strange that not even a Google search shows up much about the reels.

Rods yes, but reels no..!

Elusive eh.

I can hear Yoda saying.... Ball bearings does not a reel make......hhmmmmmm.
Once in a universe, a long time ago there was a game reel that had 12 BB but it was a peice of snot. I know there are at least 3 sitting under the peir at Cairns.
So dont judge a reel by its ball bearings.

Umm, I think I might pass on the Strudwick reel for now.

It doesn't seem as though anyone out there has had much actual experience with them.

No rush anyway...there's other half decent reels out there in that price range - tried, tested & proven.
