Big whiting and muddies

Went out yesterday to the Pine River with Frank (aka the fishing machine) and Brian (Popgun19) to place some crab pots to soak overnight to see if we could score some muddies for XMAS lunch. After placing the pots Frank went down to the Gold Coast to fish for whiting.

We called Frank at 6am this morning to see if he wanted to come and help collect the muddies. He had just arrived home after fishing all night and we were greeted with tales of big whiting. Arrived at Brian's place to see Frank (no sleep)showing Brian his catch (15 fish between 35 and 46cm):o

We headed to the Pine to pull the pots and only managed 3 keepers for XMAS lunch but at lease we had a crab centerpiece each for the XMAS table. There were crab pot floats everywhere in the pine and it was difficult to recognise ours.

A message to all check your muddies to make sure there full before you take them. No use taking half empties home

46cm - one seriously big whiting!
