Hello all, what is the best way to keep muddies alive once you catch them. Generally how long will they survive ?
Thanks

I have kept them for a week in an esky with a few freezer blocks to keep them cool (not cold). Keep them off the ice or blocks. A bucket or two of salt water to give them a drink (dunk) every day and a wet hessian sack over the top helps. Keep the bung out or the lid cracked for air. Watch out for ants as well

i have used a 44 gallon drum half filled with salt water. a bucket with holes in the bottom was hung above the drum and half filled with filter medium. submersible pump pumped the water into the bucket which ran back down into the drum. kept "mr snappy" alive for 3 months. you do need to protect the pump from mr snappy with some sort of barrier tho - i used chicken wire.
on the other hand, a mate of mine kept them alive for a week in his bath tub. but then, he's not married;).
cheers

Hope he remembered. May not be married because he can't have children.

usually keep them alive for a few days in a tub, Out of the sun with a wet hessian cloth over the top,
if possible give them a swim every two days for them to wet their gills,
