Hi All.

Im heading up to Urraween for a few days at xmas, Can anyone give me some advice on some spots and species, also anything to look out for, and the closest boat ramp. I might take the boat, definatly the kayak and land based,

Urraween is about half way along the Bay, between Scarness and Torquay. It was an animal sanctuary back in the early 70's but is now a housing estate. Plenty of access to the beachfront all along there for some yak action. Just past the harbour at Urangan is the Pulgul creek area which is also good for a sniff around for some mangrove fishing. There are rocks at Pialba/Pt Vernon up the north end of town which are also o.k. for some lure trolling.
There will be plenty of people around at Christmas so prepare for crowds.
