well with perfect weather for muddies, warm air 15knott breeze it was a perfect chance to go checkout some mangroves for some crabs.... in short its one of the best trips ive had with 22 muddies caught and released and 10 kept for a pre christmas feast the crabs sizes was great with all crabs averaging at 1.5kg, what made my day was my pb for hand caught crabs at 2.1kg and atlast my best mate brought his camera theres only 2 video's as he didnt pack spare batteries... enjoy 8-)

yes i do believe i said can't i also said at the end of the video i should mute that hahaha, believe it or not i lost that watch down a crab hole and went back the next day to find it pushed out the front so i got my watch back and the crab that pushed it out hahaha

i sneak up to the holes as the muddy is less aware of my pressence that way and they usually are shallower in the holes that way when i dive in i catch him unprepared, in those videos i had to be quick as the holes in that particular spot are deep usually i can take my time if the holes are shallower, theres alot more technique then meets the eye when doing this im not just bonkers hahaha

i avoid everything that has the sharp end hahaha grab them any way you can to avoid the claws some holes are very hard to get a good pin down move, yeah night time has its advantages

Mate your nuts, I would be dropping a pot at the entrance and coming back later for the crab...
You remind me of a crazy mate of mine who chases Feral Pigs out west. Last I heard his best was a 88kg Boar by hand.
He jumps off the ute in a style similar to your dive and grabs the pigs back leg !!! If i hadn't seen it with my own eyes I never would have believed it..
