I had a look at a 2500 Shimano Sahara at BCF today. They seemed like a well made little reel with an alloy body and 3 bearings (no spare spool which seems to be the Shimano trend lately) but does anyone know if they are exclusive to BCF which probably means that they are another Shimano reel which has been rebadged as a Sahara.

Priced at $129 they seem to sit just below the Symetre in the Shimano lineup of spinning reels.

They don't seem to appear in Shimano catalogues or on their Australian website.

The symetry is a bit smoother then the sahara, I have 3 2500 symetrys and they are great little reels, the sahara is an international model (have a look on the US site), but BCF might have a deal to be the only retailer here. good luck mate. If you are not in a hurry keep an eye on the bcf specials they often do the symetry with a rod for $150-160
